Nonprofit Highlight: Idaho Senior Games

Introduction

The Idaho Senior Games is an Associate National Senior Games Association (NSGA) member. Our athletes can qualify to participate in the National Senior Games event held every other year. The 2025 National Event is scheduled for Des Moines, Iowa, in July and August.

Idaho is an "open state," meaning anyone can compete to qualify for nationals.

Our organization is coordinated by a State Director, a Board of Directors, and a dedicated volunteer staff.

Vision Statement

The Idaho Senior Games has been an important part of active seniors' lives since 1989. Our games are a social, recreational and competitive experience designed to encourage health and fitness among men and women over the age of 50 at all fitness levels.

Mission Statement

Idaho Senior Games stresses the importance of health and wellness, exercise, and healthy lifestyles in making the senior years productive and healthy.

Our goal is to reach 1000 registered senior athletes.

Why Idaho Senior Games would be a good fit for Idaho Partner for Good's approach

Our annual budget is about $70,000. Two-thirds of that is covered by athlete registration fees. The balance is supported through corporate sponsorships, mostly from the health insurance industry. If we can increase sponsorships, we can maintain registration fees at current levels. Our costs go up yearly as we constantly try to "up our game.”
